Master Chef: Bomb-Ass Guacamole 



This is the best guacamole ever. Lots of textures, not too mashed and plenty of flavor. I once ate like two bowls of this stuff in one night… by myself. #YOLO

Ingredients:

  • 2 avocados
  • Juice of one lime
  • Garlic Salt
  • Cumin
  • Kosher salt
  • Pepper
  • Cilantro
  • Tomatoes (I used heirloom)



Mash all together and enjoy with some chips and a margarita!

Drunk in Love: Infuse Your Booze

Jalapeño infused vodka! This stuff is so good. The spice totally cuts the vodka after taste (ideal for taking shots during a quickie pregame). I researched infusing techniques for a ridiculous amount of time and ended up using this recipe. I can’t wait to use this in every cocktail. I now also have an absurdly long list of other liquor flavor combinations to try: Kumquat gin, fig brandy… the possibilities are endless!

Pro Tip: USE GLOVES. The first time I made this my hands felt like they were on fire for a full day and a half after cutting and seeding the peppers. I actually thought I was going to cut off my hands.

DIY: Cake Topper



This looks SO cute! I have seen this done all over Pinterest etc and this is my take. 



I glued together three sheets of paper and cut a long strip from the bottom left corner to the top right. Then I folded it into two lines, reinforced the lines that would have writing with cardboard and wrote my message! I then glue gunned the banner to two wooden skewers and attached the little glitter circles 🙂

Master Chef: Paleo Pancakes

I am not paleo but these are DELICIOUS. I used this recipe and will def be using it again… tomorrow (and the day after). I had tried the two ingredient (banana and egg) pancakes before and these are 10,000x better.

I kept the pancakes very small to make them easy to flip and cooked them on very low heat.

Schweets: POP-TARTS!

Passover is over tonight! Let the carbo loading begin!

I have been thinking about making these for a while now and I’m THRILLED with how they turned out. I used this recipe for the dough and this recipe for the glaze. Also look at my amazing GIF.

(Thank you Travis for enabling this obsession. You are my official go-to-friend for discussing crumb placement).IMG_0435 (1)I can’t even describe how good these are… and they look so professional! For the filling I used some homemade berry jam mixed with cornstarch. I ended up cooking these for a bit longer than the recipe called for so they were a tad crispier.

I won’t lie, these are a little tricky to make. There is a definite learning curve but by the end I had the hang of it. I might even look for a big rectangle cookie cutter instead of bothering with all of the measuring etc. And I mean even if they aren’t technically perfect the end result is PERFECTION. I can’t wait to make more with different sweet and savory fillings!
